Golf: Natalie Gulbis canceled Charity presentation
The beautyful LPGA Tour golfer Natalie Gulbis, citing a calendar conflict involving one of her sponsors, has canceled her appearance as the headliner for Monday's 2008 Meijer Charity Classic at The Highlands.
"I must say that we don't have too much information at this point, but we are very disappointed," said Carleen Crawford of Lady Links Management, which has developed the one-day pro-am with 21 LPGA pros that benefits Gilda's House Grand Rapids.
"In fact, she has been a big draw and was creating a lot of excitement."
We must consider that East Grand Rapids golfer Allison Fouch, who is playing in her first full year on the LPGA Tour, will be among the professionals in town Monday for the 10:30 a.m. pro-am. She is ranked 46th on the LPGA Tour money list, while Gulbis, a first-time winner last year, is ranked 53rd.
As we know, the LPGA Tour is in Sylvania, Ohio, near Toledo this week for the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic.
